"BIRDS OF THE FUTURE": FENCE DANCE

More from Skewed Visions’ 2019 performance piece “Birds of the Future”, for which I had the honor of providing sound design and original music. Here we see our fine feathered protagonists, Megan Mayer and Erika Hansen, phasing into one of my favorite passages in the show. My contribution here was a looped sample of dry leaves blowing around in the wind on the sidewalk outside my house, gradually decaying into lower and lower resolution as the performers offer a counterpoint by activating chimey elements hanging from the wire fence. Shoutout to Jess Kiel-Wornson for providing these lovely percussive elements as part of her brilliantly layered set design, which universalized the concept of obstructed-view seating.
